March Update

Okay, so blogger is driving me nuts with its formatting. I don't know what they changed, but I don't like it. Everything is out of order and I don't have time to mess with it any longer :)

She has found her toes, and now she likes to suck on them

She LOVES bathtime, squealing as soon as we walk into the bathroom

Helping Daddy put together his new trike

She is now big enough to play in the exersaucer and loves it.
Things are busy as usual around the Norris household. We have really been enjoying this spring weather that has finally arrived. Tony and the boys have been hanging outside in the evenings after we get home while I try to do a few things and get dinner going. Its the first thing Ollie asks when he gets home from school "outside play?"

Ollie is really talking up a storm now. I think he's understandable to most people now if they take the time to listen. Not that he's been a fussy kiddo, but I know he's much happier now that he can express his thoughts, wants and needs. He is sort of in pre-potty training mode. Even though it would be nice to only have one in diapers right now, I am not one to rush potty training. It seems like such a big waste of energy if you try before they are ready. He sits on the potty at school a lot, but rarely goes. He asks to sit on the potty pretty frequently when he needs to poop, but doesn't really ever pee in the potty. Seems a little backwards, but whatever. I also just ordered his "big boy bed." Don't think we'll set it up just yet, but it was on sale with free shipping, so I couldn't pass it up. He has not climbed out of his crib yet, but totally could if he tried. He's really growing up (sniffle, sniffle).

Sam is a lot of fun right now. He is really enjoying his pre-K curriculum at school and has announced the math is his favorite, much to Tony's delight. He has weekly homework assignments to work on and last week we were supposed to figure out what 5 + 5 is. So was planning on having him draw 5 of something and then another 5 and count them up. When I told him what the assignment said, he just said "its 10." Apparently, he had just been watching a show that morning and they had talked about that. He is starting to read words and loves to write out stuff with spelling help from mom and dad. He and Ollie are really playing well together. Sam had a family picnic and Easter egg hunt for his class last week. He wanted me to read the announcement to him. It said "any family or friends are welcome." Sam said, "ooh, Ollie can come, he's my friend." I was very touched.

Crazy girl Clara is doing great too. She is 5 months old now, but she thinks she is 8 months old. She is almost trying to crawl and gets very frustrated that she cannot. She definitely gets around through some kind of combination of rolling and scooting on her face. She is a very happy baby and squeals with delight without any provocation. With any little noise or squeal she makes Ollie says "Clara (sounds like Kayla) funny." He thinks she is hilarious. I can't believe I almost forgot, she has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now!!! Our next big milestone will be starting solid foods at 6 months.
